Researching with your agent to find the perfect home that fits your families needs, and viewing these properties in person. 4. Making an offer on a home that you like and putting down the earnest money(this money that is used to show the seller that you are serious about buying their home and is usually refunded at closing or will go towrds your closing costs) and option fee (money used to give you the buyer 10 days to have the house inspected for problems or for you to change your mind about buying the home and still receive your earnest back) 5. Having the home that you have put an offer on inspected by a Home Inspector for any serious problems. I consider this to be the first investment that you will make in your home. I strongly recommend that everyone have an home inspection done. 6.If everything goes smoothly we will close on your home within 30 days and you can begin your new adventure of being a home owner.
